Furnace Mill Fishery: The Sunday Open was on Mucky Meadow and Willow Pool this week. Once again Paul Cook, Mark’s Tackle, came first.

This week he was on peg 48 on Mucky Meadow and landed 122lb 9oz, as usual he used maggot to good effect. In second place was Dan Amphlett, Mossella BC. He fished peg 71 on Willow and landed 84lb 13oz. In third with 78lb 10oz from peg 45 was Kev Williams, Wolverhampton.

Sunday (16 fished): 1 Paul Cook (Mark’s Tackle), Peg 48, 122-9; 2 Dan Amphlett (Mossella BC), Peg 71, 84-13; 3 Kev Williams (Wolverhampton), Peg 45, 78-10; 4 Duncan Newton (Redditch), Peg 51, 76-1; 5 John Newton (Furnace Mill), Peg 61, 74-6.

The final of the Summer Accumulator is fast approaching with only two matches left. The top 24 qualify and due to the nights drawing in Furnace Mill will have to draw promptly at 2pm. Park Inn AC: The contest at Woodside produced a new club record from Stu Campbell with a weight of 156-10-0lbs.

Each pool is £25 per match and winners receive Browning tackle and cash prizes.

i would like to say what a great job the sports reporters do every week its the first pages i read everytime especially the angling section well done
