JUNIORS from Kidderminster and Stourport AC treated to an Olympic sized surprise when bronze medal winner Nicholas Willis paid them a visit last week.
The 25-year-old New Zealander had time to show the juniors, who were training at the ground, the medal he won coming third in the 1,500m in Beijing.
The Commonwealth gold medallist talked to the up and coming athletes about how important it is to train and prepare.
It was an impromptu visit by the athlete, who was visting family in the Wyre Forest area and used the club's athletics track to prepare for the Avia Grand Prix on Gateshead on Sunday, where he finished second in the 1,000m.
Kidderminster and Stourport chairman Ron Oliver said: "Nick turned up out of the blue and was brilliant, he showed the kids his medal and had time to talk to them about athletics.
"It was a great experience for the juniors will have here and he's a great example to them all."
