AN up-and-coming golfer from Kidderminster booked his place in the national final of the YMPG Ping Junior Masters competition.
Callum Hutchinson, 14, made it through the central qualifying tournament at Henley-in-Arden GC to ensure he will be up against some of the country’s best young players in the final.
The final will be held at the Telford Golf and Spa Hotel on Wednesday, October 29.
Hutchinson’s handicap is 9.5 and he is a member of both Gaudet Luce and Kidderminster Golf Clubs and also trains with the Russell Adams Academy in Droitwich.
David Drew edged out Tony Hart to win the Shillingford Trophy Seniors Club Championship at Bewdley Pines GC.
The rivals finished on a gross score of 87 and net 60 but on countback Drew was handed the title, leaving Hart runner-up, while Richard Bourne was third.
