St John’s secure second

ST John’s A finished runners-up in the Kidderminster and District Midweek Bowls League Division One edging out third placed Franche A by 22 shots.

St John’s B slip out of the division after finishing in the bottom two, while Kinver B are also relegated.

In Division Two St John’s Tiger Turf return to the top flight after securing the title, one point ahead of Royal Mail A, who sealed promotion after Oldington B lost their game in hand away at SW Victoria.

At the bottom, four shots meant the difference between staying up and relegation with Kinver A losing out to Bewdley B in the battle to avoid the drop. Stourport D take the other relegation spot.

Franche B have their third promotion on the trot, as Division Three champions and they are joined in Division Two next season by Cookley A, who once again pipped the third placed team, Wolverley B, on shots.

At the bottom, it was more bad news for St John’s and Stourport as the club’s C teams dropped down a division.

Division Four was another one that was decided on shots, as Oldington F secured their second successive promotion, pipping second-placed Bewdley D by 14. Kidderminster Carolians and St George’s BWP were the teams that dropped down a division.

With only one loss all season, Little Lakes ran away with the Division Five title, with Ombersley B securing the second promotion spot and Nomads finished the season in bottom spot.

St John’s OB A are once again Thursday League Champions, pipping Oldington by one shot.

Stourport A and Ombersley suffered relegation down to Division Two, while St Ambrose and Kinver A both make a speedy return to Division One, with Bewdley C sitting at the bottom of the table.

St John’s Tiger Turf defeated Cookley A to add the Jubilee Mk1 Cup to their Division Two title.

In the Jubilee Mk2, Carolians put their poor league form behind them to secure a win over Oldington D.

Oldington were also unlucky in the Thursday League Cup, losing to Bewdley B by just two shots.

Monday sees the return of the individual cup competitions, with the Sneader Doubles taking place at Cookley.
