KIDDERMINSTER’S Unique Fitness gym saw a contingent dominate at the UK Open Powerlifting Championships in Swansea on Sunday.
The gym saw many of its members win their events, while Steve Knight was named the day’s best powerlifter.
Debbie Hickman won her age category after lifting 105 kilograms in the squat, 53kg in the bench press and 120kg in the deadlift.
Louise Price was also the dominant force in her category, winning the event after lifting 130kg in the squat, 75kg in the bench, before recording 140kg in the deadlift.
Dave Clements continued to rewrite the history books in the 65-year-old category, setting new British records in the squat (180kg), bench press (125kg) and deadlift (180kg).
Knight showed off his power with victory after lifting 300kg in the squat, 195kg in the bench press and 282.5kg in the deadlift, while finally Mark Jenkins emerged victorious after recording 240kg in the squat,155kg in the bench press and 280kg in the deadlift.
Other results: Rob Preston — 222.5kg bench press; Dave Mills — 2nd 260kg squat, 210kg bench press, 270kg deadlift.
