MARK Selby made the leap from potential to prizes last season and now goes into his match against Joe Perry topping the Premier League rankings.

Four wins and no defeats have ensured he has a very strong chance of making into the last four.

He established himself as one of snooker’s up-and-coming group of talented twenty-somethings, by reaching the final of the World Snooker Championship in 2007.

The Leicester Jester went on to prove that he was no one-hit wonder by winning two major tournaments last term.

In the first half of the season he reached the semi-finals of the UK Championship, narrowly losing 9-8 to Ronnie O’Sullivan.

He then went onto win the Masters and Welsh Open in Newport to catapult him into snooker’s big-time.

Selby proved in 2006 that he also has a knack for pool as he won the World 8-Ball Championship, staged in Blackpool, beating Darren Appleton 11-7 in the final.

Now Selby gets his chance to show what he can do in a very strong field at the Premier League.
