MEMBERS of Stourport Trampoline Club excelled in the West Midlands regional qualifiers at Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre in Birmingham.

Competitors got their first chance to try out the new points scoring system, with Stourport's efforts ensuring first place.

Sophie Allan, 17, had her best performance ever, competing three solid routines to get a personal best of 50 points, which in the previous scoring set-up would have seen her reach national standards.

Emily Batson, 17, also produced one of her best performances with a score of 49.20, which was enough to ensure she will be trying for a national level alongside Allan.

Eve Newman, 11, finished in fourth place and qualified out of over 40 competitors.

Together with Issy Pearce-Mason, 12, Lizzy Hollis, 12 and Kirsten Anthony, 11, Newman finished first in the team competition.

Topaz Cartlidge, 9, finished in fourth place in the under-11s age group and then teamed up with Dali Morgan, Millie Court and Sophie Jancey to come second in the team standings.
