MIDFIELDER Andy Ferrell has called on the fans to support Harriers after the side were booed off the pitch at the end of Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Weymouth at Aggborough.

A section of fans booed at half-time and at the end of the Blue Square Premier clash, after Harriers saw their nine-game unbeaten run at home end.

In a podcast interview after the game Ferrell felt the fans’ noisy displeasure was undeserved because of the Harriers’ fine campaign so far.

The Aggborough side have surprised many this season by breaking their way into the Blue Square Premier’s promotion play-off reckoning.

Ferrell said: “It was one of those days and we’re all disappointed and we’re also disappointed with the fans as well.

“Booing us at half-time didn’t help. Why are they booing us when we’re in the top five on merit?

“If we’re not in the top five and are right in the bottom half and struggling then boo us as much as you want.

“We’ve had the results this season, if they can boo why can’t they get behind the team?"

“We understand their frustration, they want to be entertained and we didn’t give them anything.”

However, Ferrell also believes that the team will be determined to put things right when Harriers take on Histon at home next Tuesday.

“Our next home game is against Histon, let’s hope we can put things right,” he added.
