A STOURPORT alpine skier won his first international medal in the Czech Republic.
Ashley Breese, 13, came third in his age group in the slalom category at the Skiinterkriterium International Children's Race.
The Stourport High School pupil also helped the British Children's Ski team to finish fourth overall.
Mother Cheryl Breese said: "This was a big moment for Ashley, it was his first international tournament but he coped very well."
In December he clinched a gold medal in the Super G event at the British Race Club Championships in Austria.
He is now gearing up for English Alpine Championships, which will be held in Italy in February.
Breese flew out to Austria with the national team to prepare for the competition at the weekend.
