RISING swimming star Fran O’Connor had her achievements in the pool recognised at Villa Park after being named the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) young female achiever of the year.
The 18-year-old from Kidderminster has had a storming 12 months, setting three British records.
O’Connor, who has cerebral palsy, is the current national record holder in the 50 metres, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle events.
She was presented with her trophy by the chairman of the EFDS, Professor David Croisdale-Appleby OBE and Jordanne Whiley, the British women’s number two ranked wheelchair tennis player.
