The exodus of players from Aggborough continued today when Kiddemrinster Harriers announced Andy Ferrell was leaving.

The combative midfielder appeared on the point of signing a new deal with Harriers after a appearance clause in his one-year contract was triggered twoards the end of last season.

However, Ferrell today signed for Blue Square Premier rivals York City where he links up with ex-Harriers Simon Russell.

Ferrell first joined Harriers early in 2007, on loan from Hereford, but quickly made his deal a permanent arrangement prior to 2007/08.

The popular Geordie, known as Fez, went on to make 86 appearances in just over two seasons, scoring two goals.

Boss Mark Yates said: "Fez has been absolutely fantastic for the football club over the last two years.

"He's always put his head on the line for the cause and he's been a pleasure to work with; and this move is a great one for him as he can now be closer to home.

"We wish him success for his future career."
