WAGGON & Horses claimed victory over Black Boy Hotel in the Hire IT Wribbenhall Darts League on Friday.

Waggon's Shaun Portman won the opening leg which included a 180 and a 36 checkout. Black Boy's Nick Jones opened the next leg in a tense encounter against Gordon Stuart, both players matching each other all the way with excellent throwing. Stuart went for a 101 out shot hitting treble 20 single 17 but missed the double 12. Jones fluffed a simple 36 out shot missing with three darts leaving Portman one dart at double 12 to take the leg. Portman was not so lucky in the doubles encounter again shooting against Jones and James Muckian. Muckian opened on a 140 and Jones followed up with a ton, Jones this time found the extra level and sunk double 16 for the leg. Waggon's Stacy Cooke then lost out to Muckian in his singles match but the Boy could not progress any further with Archie Fernell, Chris Mapp and Alan Moore taking the remaining legs for the Waggon.

Leaders Wribbenhall Social smashed a 7-0 win over luckless Western.

Social took control from the start seeing Des Tipper beat Tony Ward in 11 darts followed again by Dave Edwards hatching out a 12-darter over against Western’s top thrower Pete Carter. Tony Ward was unlucky not to checkout a 90 in the trebles but Social wrapped up the night with Andy Brown and Richard Adams taking the final double for the league’s first whitewash. Red Lion made hard work of Bewdley Bowling Club after going three legs up, but the Bowlers fought back to three legs each with a treble leg looming and this leg turned out some high class throwing from both teams, lions Steve Mole smacked a 120 with Bob Green matching that going one better on 140, Tony Danks then set up Darren Wilks a 96 out shot, Wilks hit treble 18, single 2, double 20 to wrap up the match.
