HARRIERS manager Mark Yates admits that the availability of captain Chris McPhee does give him a selection headache ahead of today's Blue Square Premier clash at Kettering Town.

The skipper returns to action after serving his three-match ban and give cock-a-hoop Harriers another lift.

However, with the team on a high after beating Football Conference leaders Oxford United 3-1 on Saturday, it may be a difficult choice to leave any of the players who performed so well out.

"I do have a bit of a selection dilemma," admitted Yates.

"Chris [McPhee] is back after his suspension and normally he'd be one of the first names on the team-sheet.

"But after that performance against Oxford, it's going to be very difficult because everyone played so well, there were no weak areas.

"Chris though is a quality player, we've asked him to play a number of positions so far this season and he's performed well in all of them.

"It's something that I need to sit down with Neil [Howarth] and talk about."

However, Harriers' captain has a strong case for selection after impressing in defence, midfield and attack so far this campaign.

Harriers will need all the help they can get at Rockingham Road, as the Poppies are certainly a bogey team.

The Aggborough outfit have lost the last four matches to Kettering and have beaten them just once in the last 10 meetings.

But this may be the best chance for Harriers to record their first away win at Kettering since April 1993 as their opponents adjust to life without Mark Cooper.

Cooper left Kettering this week to take charge at Championship outfit Peterborough, with vastly experienced keeper Lee Harper taking over as manager.

Yate, who is good friends with Cooper from their days together at Birmingham City, believes that his move may pave the way for other managers in the Football Conference to get their chance in the league.

He said: "Mark was surprised as anyone when he got the job but good luck to him.

"He's done a good job at Kettering and deserves his chance.

"There's a lot of good managers at Football Conference level, so if he succeeds at Peterborough who knows?

"Barry Fry has a lot of connections with the Conference, so you can see what they were thinking."
