SCOTT Allin was in record-breaking form as Wyre Forest Swimming Club competed in the County 800m Freestyle Championships.

He set a new standard of eight minutes and 39 seconds in the senior boys’ age section.

His success capped a fine set of performances by the club, which had 15 competitors in action.

Adam Marsh won the boys’ junior under-16s event, while Sophie Hall clinched the under-11s age section in nine minutes and 54 seconds.

Meg Tinsdale, Sam Rose and Luke Ladbrooke came second in their events, while Josh Bradley was third.

Members of the club aged between nine and 12 also took part in the Redditch Junior Gala.

Wyre Forest finished in third place overall with 12 swimmers making their gala debuts.

First places: Boys Keiran Hawkins 10/u 50m breaststroke; Jack Rowley 12/u 50m breaststroke; George Carroll 11/u 50m breaststroke; Thomas Bull 9yr backstroke. Nine-year-old medley relay T Bull, Adam Hall, Alistair Renton, Ben Hall; 12/u freestyle relay - J Rowley; William Richardson, Alex Brady, Tom Wilcox.

Girls: Kiah Bradley 11/u 50m butterfly, Abigail Rowley 9yr butterfly; Georgia Lloyd 11/u 50m breaststroke; Nine-year-old free relay - Madeline Bowen, Amy Aston, Amy Osbourne, Hetty Tinsdale.
