CRICKET: Stourport got off to a winning start as they savoured a friendly win over Kidderminster Victoria’s seconds.

Jamie Brighton top scored for KVCC with a half century as his side made 201-4 in 40 overs, while Mike Pratt took two wickets for Stourport.

The hosts made 202-5 in reply in 35 overs, with 18-year-old Dan Platt hitting 52 not out, while Dave Cook (32), Craig Siwicki (40) and Neil Bailey (27) also contributed.

Stourport's seconds defeated Cookley's seconds by 110 runs.

Ryan Delo, 15, hit 65 not out, with Kevin Haycock (50 not out) and Conor Franklyn (24) also doing well with the willow as Stourport made 223-5.

In reply, Cookley were kept to 113-9, with Jamie Harris taking three wickets and Matt Roberts and Adam Selleck taking two each.

A mixed Stourport first and seconds side play Brintons at home on Saturday (1pm start).
