THE best entry in years provided superb racing at Bewdley Motorcycle Club’s Grasstrack Championships in Alveley on Sunday.

Wolverley’s Lee Hazelwood was in dominant mood in the quad class and was unbeaten all day.

A late addition to the meeting, due to a cancelled international event, Paul Cooper was unbeaten in the 500cc heats and went onto win the final.

Martin Sturgeon struggled through the heats and only just scraped into the final but took the lead, before a slip allowed Cooper to win the event.

Albrighton ace Tom Perry dominated in the 350cc class, while Clows Top resident Ben Millichap finished 11th, but bounced back to come third in the upright category.

The 1,000cc sidecars also gave excellent racing with eventual winners Miles Simmons and Kevin Woodley, while Scott Dunn and Natasha Bartlett also dominated the 500cc sidecars section.
