CHAIRMAN Barry Norgrove is hoping that the new squad additions will help fuel season ticket sales at Harriers.

The chairman has been pleased with the first week's sales of earlybird tickets with around the 100 mark sold.

However, the addition of Keith Briggs, Danny Lewis and Lee Vaughan with more players set to join as manager Steve Burr reshapes the squad.

Last season, the club sold around 500 tickets, with the chairman hoping for at least the same number this time.

Norgrove was also pleased by the capture of Briggs, who signed on a two-year-deal this week.

"We're just glad Steve [Burr] is here because he's got the contacts and is able to bring players in," commented the chairman.

"I don't know how he did it, it looked as though we might not get Briggs but he pulled something out of his hat.

"He's still working hard at bringing in players and is also talking to others he wants to retain from last season.

"Obviously, who we can bring in does depend on what we can spend, so it's important that we sell season tickets.

"We've sold around the hundred mark, which isn't a bad start, and I am hoping that we can match last season's number."

Norgrove is also hoping that the club could organise an all-star match versus the first team in July as a testimonial to former club secretary Roger Barlow.

Barlow was committed servant to the club for 30-years before stepping down at the end of the season. David Colwell takes over as stadium manager and matchday secretary.

Norgrove said: "Roger was a fantastic servant to the club and we wish him well.

"He's always welcome to come back as well.

"We would love to have a testimonial match, with an all-stars side taking on the new team in July."
