MEMBERS of Kidderminster's Saints and Sinner Bowmen started the year with some fine performances as they retained a team trophy.

The club was out in force at Wyre Forest Company of Archer’s indoor Portsmouth tournament and produced a string of good displays and high finishes.

Adam Connor, competing in the under-18s compound category, broke the county’s Portsmouth record with a score of 573, while Luke Bow shot 580 in the under-16s recurve to set a new record in the under-16s and 18s categories.

Henry Evans shot a double Portsmouth senior longbow and 50 plus club record.

Not to be outdone, Kathryn Lester set a new personal best with her longbow, while Petr Sedlacek’s recent scores were good enough to place him in the top 25 Czech archers, a reward for his and the club’s coaches.

Matt Terry debuted in the first session and hit a personal best to take the E class recurve medal. There had also been first places in the ladies longbow for Kathryn Lester, while Lewis Michael won the junior gents recurve to make sure Saints and Sinners retained the team trophy.

n Lester continued her good form during club practice, setting a county record in the long bow Portsmouth category. Bow broke the under-16s bray one record which had been set in 1995.
