DEFENDER Tom Sharpe believes the five-point deduction by the Football Conference has spurred on Harriers as they push for the play-off spots in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
The Aggborough outfit had five points deducted in January after a breach of financial regulations, which meant instead of being firmly placed in the top five they have been on the fringes of play-offs.
Saturday's 1-0 win over Wrexham lifted Harriers back into fifth-place as Harriers made it six wins out of seven games.
Harriers produced a determined rearguard action to see off Wrexham, who threw everything at them in a bid to cancel out Chris McPhee's first half goal from the penalty spot.
Sharpe said: "The lads stayed strong. We were put under a lot of pressure especially in the second half but the lads put their bodies on the line, won things in the air and got a bit of luck with a few deflections but it was a good performance.
"You could tell when they [Wrexham] where shooting towards their own fans, who were making a good atmosphere but Danny [Lewis] has hardly had a save to make and the team worked hard to grind out a result.
"Since we had the five points deducted that has spurred us on and we feel we can beat anyone at the minute."
