STUDLEY 1 BEWDLEY 2

BEWDLEY lifted the Worcestershire Senior Urn at Aggborough with a solid performance which saw them take their chances and look like they were the higher placed side of these two.

Their opponents, who were back to full strength, were over ran by the pacy Bewdley forwards, with Chris Hough a constant threat.

Bewdley should have took the lead on five minutes when Olly Smith almost turned a long free kick in right by the post but the ball eventually went wide.

Studley's first chance came two minutes later when a low cross from the left by Jamie Bailey was turned wide by Paul Dowsett.

But on ten minutes, Bewdley took the lead when a free kick by Simon Rudd caused problems in the Studley defence and Hough forced the ball home with his head.

The best chance of the half for Studley came on 12 minutes when a low shot by Joe Adams was well saved by veteran Bewdley goalkeeper Darren Steadman.

Lei Brown also went close for the Midland Alliance outfit when he got on the end of captain Pete Saunder's cross but couldn’t direct his header into the net and it went wide.

On 32 minutes, another snap shot shot by Adams was again well saved by Steadman.

But the game turned on a blistering four minute spell for Bewdley where they could have scored three goals.

On 64 minutes, Hough headed wide from a Dan Flowers cross and then hit the post with another header from a cross by Chris Seekings.

Four minutes later Craig Webb sent a through ball to Russ Godfrey who finished well just inside the post.

Jack Edwards got a goal back for later on 79 minutes when he forced the ball home, but it was to be Bewdley's night and they were deserved winners.
