Harriers' top scorer for the 2010-11 season, Chris McPhee, confirmed he won't be re-signing for the Aggborough outfit after joining League Two side Torquay on a two-year deal.
McPhee scored 19 goals as Harriers just missed out on a play-off spot in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
He turned down moves to Crawley and Hereford in January as the club suffered a financial crisis.
However, despite being offered a deal by Harriers Newton Abbott-based McPhee decided to return to the Gulls, who he played for in the 2006-07 season.
Harriers boss Steve Burr said: "It's what Chris wanted, it's a club close to him and you can understand when his dl was up it was something he was looking for.
"I'd like to say a big thank you for his efforts while here as a player."
McPhee joined Harries mid-way through the 2008-09 season and helped them finish sixth, just missing out in the play-offs.
He then signed a two-year deal and captained Harriers in the 2009-10 season.
Burr turned him from a midfielder to a striker in the last campaign, where he lead the line inspirationally, as well as playing in midfield and defence.
