A POWERHOUSE duo from Kidderminster’s Tsunami Karate Club picked up a haul of medals at the Kimura Shukokai European Championships.

Emily Powell and Iain Sinnett were in great form at the Walsall campus of University of Wolverhampton.

In his first international competition, Sinnett took the gold in the 12 to 13-year-old individual kata and bronze in the kumite.

Powell, a senior squad member, took silvers in the ladies lightweight kumite and team kumite, as well as bronze in the team and individual kata.

Both train at the Sebastian Coe Health Club under the guidance of sensei Dave Powell, who is a fourth dan.

The duo are now looking for sponsors for the World Championships, which are to be held in New Jersey in the summer of next year.

Anyone interested in sponsoring them can contact Powell on 07725 230409.
