RISING Sun A clinched the Hire It Wribbenhall Darts League on Friday night after second-place Bewdley Bowling club lost out to Waggon and Horses.

Sun’s Nick Bennett defeated Western player Pete Carter in the first leg of the evening in the singles, clocking a convincing 98-out shot and they were soon two up when James Swalwell beat Darren Priest.

Priest opened the leg with a 120 but soon found Swalwell a tough opponent to beat, when the left-hander took out a 61 in two darts.

Western’s Ian Pollard pulled a leg back but the home side never showed any nerves and were unhindered over the next five legs to wrap up their first league title in four years.

Waggon’s Richard Adams clocked a 101 out-shot in his singles leg against Bewdley Bowling Club’s Dave Thomson.

Adams again came up with a clinical finish in his doubles leg, going out on 78.

Bowler’s Max John was involved in the leg of the night against Des Tipper.

Tipper threw some magical darts of 120 and 100 but John match his throw with scores of 140 and 100.

Red Lion beat Sun B and Wribbenhall A defeated their clubmates from the B team, which condemned them to the bottom of the league.
