They finished third in their division of the Worcestershire Handicap League.

The scratch team also narrowly missed out on promotion on a count back of individual matches won.

n Cleobury Mortimer held their men’s better ball on Saturday in frosty conditions.

Ian Dorrell and Rob Pinner shot 43 points which was good enough for third place, while the in-form Mike Wood, partnered with James Griffiths, also made 43 points but had a superior count-back to finish second.

The winning score of 45 points was recorded by Alan Walker and Pete Smith to record their first win of 2011.

Resident PGA Professional Tim Hall hosted his annual family day on Sunday.

All pupils of the junior academies were invited to bring their parents along for a special par three course.

Fifty-four parents and children attended the day with a fantastic Sunday lunch served after the golf and presentation.
