TWELVE members of Kidderminster and Stourport AC (KSAC) competed in the penultimate round of the Race League in Tipton by tackling the testing five kilometre run.

Making her debut in the competition, 16-year-old Sian Powell excelled and recorded a personal best time of 21 minutes and 30 seconds to come home third runner for the club and 41st overall.

First home for the club was John Amos 19-57 (32nd), followed by Paul Bradley 21-15 (PB, 38th) and then Powell.

Ian Clough set a new personal best of 22-25 (47th) and was followed by Claire Pawson (22.47, PB, 1st LV40, 51st overall), Christine Sedman-Smith (22-55, 1st LV60, 53rd overall), Pat Fletcher (24-05, 59th), Ron Payne (25-16, PB, 3rd V60, 67th overall), Mick Hudson (25-41, 70th), Nancy Ingram (29-13, 87th), Pam Manning (29-40, 88th) and Wendy Coleman (30-15, PB, 92nd).

Three members competed in the Suicide Six on the same day, with Alex Sobolewski coming home in 38th place in a time of 42-12), followed by Martin Wilmott (47-12), first male veteran 60, 128th overall) and Mark Burcher (47-54, 141st).

Ron Lynes competed in the very demanding 10 mile Elan Valley road race on November 19 and came 96th out of 114 runners in a time of 94-22.

n Meanwhile, boys and girls from the club did very well at the recent Wyre Forest Schools Cross Country Championship in the Wyre Forest.

Bewdley High School were overall winners but a host of K&S members shone.

Sam Lloyd won the boys under-17s section, while Briony Haines was second in the under-15s girls.

Praise must also go to the club members from the multi-events group with Hannah Johnson coming sixth in the U13 girls.
