HARRIERS boss Mark Yates has praised joker in the pack Gavin Hurren for raising the spirits in the Kidderminster camp during their recent revival.

The versatile youngster, affectionately known as Trigger to his team-mates, has been influential on and off the pitch during the past few weeks.

Hurren's arrival in a holding midfield role just in front of the back four has coincided with Kidderminster winning their last two games.

And the former Nottingham Forest trainee even opened his Aggborough account with a cracking strike in the victory over Southport.

"Gavin's done well," said Yates. "In the last four games he's had one indifferent game and three decent ones.

"He's a good footballer, full of energy and totally committed to the cause. He'll run all day for you.

"We've been playing him in there with Russ Penn and it's worked well because they're great mates off the pitch and do well together on it.

"He's a great lad to have around the dressing room - even though he's the butt of all the jokes.

"Everyone talks about him, it's Trigger this and Trigger that and it's a sign of the respect and admiration the lads have got for him."
