Bewdley crews represent region

ROWING: Two crews from Bewdley’s junior squad tackled adverse weather when representing the West Midlands at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

The girls quad consisting of 14-year-olds Sian Hinton, Catherine Neilson, Hattie Blackmore and Ella Shepherd and cox Ellie Hinton were lying in fourth place out of the 12regions after the morning heats.

The girls four made up of 15 and 16-year-olds Emily Shepherd, Emma Connor, Felicity Gunn and Laura Saich and cox Rhianna Hinton were placed in fifth with both crews having high hopes for the finals later in the day.

Unfortunately, due to the worsening weather, the whole event had to be cancelled and the medals were awarded based on the times from the earlier heats.
