Tandem duo ease to victory
8:00pm Thursday 10th May 2012 in Sport
WYRE Forest CRC tandem duo of Chris Morris and Phil Hunt continued to dominate the club’s Mid-week Time Trial Championship.
The pair beat the fastest solo rider Andy Convery by more than two minutes while recording a time of 30 minutes and 50 seconds on the 14-mile Astley course.
They were again easy winners the following weekend in the Coventry CC promoted tandem 10-mile time trial.
On an undulating course, with a strong headwind and a hail storm to contend, they recorded a time of 21.34 which is the third fastest this year in the UK.
With so many members from local triathlon club TRiKS (Triathlon Kidderminster and Stourport) now competing in the Mid-week Championship, Morris decided to take them on in their own event by entering a triathlon the following day.
Although down in 97th place after the swim, his cycling and running abilities saw him through to 22nd place with an overall time of 1.09.05.
