TWO teams from the Three Lions pub took part in Stourport CC ’s six-a-side tournament on Sunday.

Lions’ A team saw off their own pubmates and all over opponents to take the tournament.

Mo Mohammed was the competition’s best bowler and Lile Sztybel was top run-scorer.

Meanwhile, only one match concerning Wyre Forest sides survived the wet weekend in the Worcestershire County Cricket League.

In Division Two 2nd XI, the derby between Stourport and Cookley was abandoned.

But in Division Seven, Stourport’s thirds extended their lead at the top after a win over Bewdley’s thirds.

Batting first, openers James Cook and Peter Harrison (60) made the most of some undisciplined Bewdley bowling with 165-run partnership.

Cook finished with an excellent 118 in an innings which included 15 fours and five sixes.

Allan Moss then plundered 54 as Stourport declared in the 42nd over on 283-8.

In reply, Bewdley made little attempt at the target finishing on 66-7, with Matt Roberts the pick of the Stourport bowlers with 3-21 Fixtures — Worcestershire County League Division One 2nd XI: Coombs Wood v Bewdley.
