Lucas rolls up fine for Cleobury success

BOB Lucas won Cleobury Mortimer’s double roll-up tournament over the weekend.

The winner clinched first place with a score of 42, which was enough to see his handicap fall back into double figures.

Earlier in the competition, Tom Wright continued his fine form with 37 points which saw him finish fourth overall.

Andy Thomas — who has been having lessons with head professional Rob Watkins — shot 38 points to take third.

Dean Sadler also recorded the same score but a superior count back saw him grab second spot.

The day, however, belonged to Lucas, who made the game looks easy with a solid combination of fairways and greens in regulation.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster GC won promotion for the third year in a row in the West Midlands Scratch League to move up to Division Six.
