Matt on verge of Fleetwood move Matt on verge of Fleetwood move

HARRIERS striker Jamille Matt is in talks about a switch to League Two outfit Fleetwood Town.

Fleetwood have made an offer which has triggered a clause in the 23-year-old striker's new deal, which entitles the North West outfit to talk to Matt.

Chairman Mark Serrell said: “We included a clause within Jamille’s new agreement that was designed to offer the club a little more security and, in our view, hopefully keep him with us for at least the foreseeable future.

“We had not envisaged at all that any club would meet the criteria of that clause quite so soon but Fleetwood Town have done so – their officials made an approach properly and through the correct channels which we commend.

“Naturally we do not wish to lose Jamille’s services but accept that this move is potentially a very fruitful one for him and we wish him well with whatever he decides to do.”

If talks go well, then the hitman's move could be completed in the next 24 hours.

Matt has made a rousing return to duty with eight goals in as many games, which has earned him the player of the month award for December.

He only signed an 18-month deal at Aggbororugh last week.

If the striker passes his medical then he will be in the squad for Fleetwood's home game against Bristol Rovers.
