GARY Whild is hoping the situation with manager Steve Burr is resolved soon to make sure it does not distract from Harriers' promotion push.

The assistant boss took charge of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Barnet in the Skrill Premier.

Burr was not at the game after he requested to talk to Kidderminster's league rivals Forest Green Rovers about their manager vacancy.

He was set to speak with the Gloucestershire side soon and Harriers will be able to claim compensation for Burr, who is contracted to the Carpetmen until 2016.

Whild felt his players had been unfazed by the goings on behind the scenes.

But they paid the price for a sluggish start when Luisma Villa scored in the 25th minute.

The goal prompted Kidderminster, who remain second in the league, to wake from their slumber but for all their control, they created only a handful of chances.

"I didn't think we could do any more in terms of effort and attitude," commented Whild.

"We had four strikers on at the end and it was just one of those days.

"Obviously things have gone on but you find in football these things tends to happen.

"We've got some experienced players with a good work ethic and the lads understood they needed to put a professional performance  in.

"We've worked hard over the last three seasons to put a good side together and hopefully things can be sorted out soon because we don't want this thing to affect us."
