HARRIERS playmaker Lee Fowler says he isn’t worried about the abuse he’s expecting to receive from Wrexham’s fans tomorrow.

The Carpetmen take on the struggling Dragons at Aggborough aiming to get back on track in the Skrill Premier.

Fowler could be the object of the travelling support’s ire after he left Wrexham for Fleetwood Town in 2012 and helped the Cod Army beat them to automatic promotion to the Football League.

Wrexham had signed the player in January 2011 after he had been released by Forest Green Rovers because of a knee injury.

He featured 34 times in all competitions for the Welsh side but after manager Dean Saunders left, Fowler decided on a switch to Fleetwood.

He said: “I am expecting to get some abuse off the Wrexham fans but that doesn’t bother me.

“When you’ve played in front of 30,000 people, having 1,000 fans boo you doesn’t have the same effect.

“Banter with the fans is part of football and as long as it doesn’t escalate it’s all good.

“Wrexham helped rebuild my career and I was close to Dean Saunders, just like I am close to Steve Burr. They both trust me to play my game and get things right.

“But I am looking forward to the match, Harriers fans will make some noise, so it’s going to be a big occasion.”

Callum Gittings is set to miss the match with a knee injury sustained in the 1-1 draw against Macclesfield. Jack Byrne (hamstring) is a doubt.

Wrexham boast in-form striker Andy Bishop, who has scored five goals in two matches.

The Welsh side have been hit hard by a slew of injuries in central defence but can welcome back ex-Kidderminster defender Mark Creighton, who has been out injured for most of the season.

He could partner David Artell, who controversially was given clearance to play in last season’s play-off semi-final first leg by the Welsh FA, despite being sent off against Mansfield.

Fans unable to make the match can keep up with all the action with The Shuttle’s live match updates, which will have team news before the 3pm kick-off, followed by all the drama.
