JOSH Gowling believes Harriers' players are keeping focused amid all the excitement over tomorrow's FA Cup clash against Newport County.

Kidderminster is buzzing with interest ahead of the hotly-anticipated second round tie which sees Steve Burr's side entertain one of the form sides in the Skybet League Two.

At stake is a place in the third round, where the winners could potentially be drawn against a Premier League giant, and the chance to generate extra funds for the club.

But vice-captain Gowling is keeping calm ahead of the impending drama.

"It's great to see the fans get excited about the game but as players we're just getting on with it," said the centre back.

"We've got to keep focused on the job and make sure we go out and do our best."

Harriers' recent record against the Exiles is an excellent one, beating them on the last four occasions but each game has been incredibly close.

Chey Dunkley bagged a late winner as Harriers won 2-1 at Newport against the run of play, while hat-tricks for Jamille Matt and Nick Wright helped Kidderminster to 3-2 home wins over the Welsh side.

Gowling said: "There hasn't been much in it between the two sides in recent games.

"Newport are doing well in League Two so we're going to have to defend solidly.

"Both sides will have plenty of chances and hopefully we can take ours!"

Harriers have a full strength squad for Saturday's clash.
