GARY Whild is confident Kidderminster Harriers will rise to the challenge set by Skrill Premier promotion rivals Grimsby Town tomorrow night.

The Carpetmen have seen their momentum stall after back-to-back defeats to Woking and Alfreton.

It won’t get any easier at Blundell Park, where the Mariners are unbeaten in seven games.

Grimsby also defeated League Two Northampton in the FA Cup, but Kidderminster boast a fine record at the Cleethorpes-based outfit, winning their last three matches there.

The mouth-watering clash (7.45pm ko), to be televised on BT Sports, kicks-off a testing Christmas period.

Hereford visit Aggborough on Boxing Day and Harriers go to Luton on Saturday, December 28 (both 3pm ko).

“It’s not very often we lose two games in a row, which is a testament to how well we have done over the last few seasons,” said the assistant manager.

“Fans have become used to the team winning a lot of games and the lads are eager to respond to those two defeats.”

Lee Vaughan is back from his one-match ban but Kidderminster will be without the suspended Amari Morgan-Smith and Callum Gittings.

Morgan-Smith was sent off in Saturday’s 3-1 loss at home to Alfreton, while the in-form Gittings picked up his fifth card of the season.

Meanwhile, Harriers have revealed a trading loss of £40,654 during the 2012-13 season.

That figure has been offset by £122,700 which directors and KHIST put into the club in return for shares, resulting in an increase in shareholders’ funds of £82,046 overall to £892,721.

Harriers sold Jamille Matt to Fleetwood Town for £300,000 last January and also boosted their coffers with capacity crowds against Wrexham and Stockport, which saw the club’s turnover rise from £1,027,355 to £1,525,310. Their AGM is on Thursday, January 24 (7.30pm).
