STEVE Burr says that league position means nothing when Harriers take on struggling local rivals Hereford at Aggborough on Boxing Day.

The Carpetmen will be aiming to end their three-match losing streak in the Skrill Premier against their neighbours.

While Harriers have slipped to sixth in the table they are still having a much better season than the Bulls who are languishing in 17th place.

Hereford are also engulfed in a financial crisis, needing to raise £35,000 to pay HM Revenue and Customs.

But factors such as league form and off field concerns will not play a part insists Burr.

He said: "It all goes out of the window."

"We saw that last season at Edgar Street, where they played quite well and we won the game.

"We played very well at Aggborough and didn't get the result so it's on the day."

While Harriers are on their worst run of results since the start of the 2012-13 campaign, Martin Foyle's side have won two of their last three games, with an impressive 1-0 win over leaders Cambridge on Saturday.

Callum Gittings and Amari Morgan-Smith return from suspension but centre back Josh Gowling will miss the game because of five yellow cards.

Fans unable to make the game can follow all the action with The Shuttle's live match blog.

There will also be a report at full-time and reaction to the derby, which kicks off at 3pm.
