STEVE Burr hailed Harriers' dazzling first half display after their 2-1 Boxing Day win over Hereford at Aggborough.

A superb flowing performance in a dominant first period was capped by eye-catching goals for Michael Gash and Danny Jackman.

Apart from Josh O'Keefe's scrappy 49th minute reply, Harriers defended solidly as the Bulls pushed forward in the second half.

But Kidderminster saw off their local rivals and ended their three-match losing streak in the Skrill Premier and lifted them to fifth in the table.

He said: "We were disappointed by the goal we conceded just after half-time but the first half performance was tremendous.

"Out of the three blatant penalties I will never know how we weren't awarded one.

"It's three points and a bit of anxiety crept in. When you haven't won for three games sometimes you I wouldn't say panic but tend to get a bit anxious about winning the game.

"To be fair to the lads at the back they defended well. Hereford were route one in the second half but we coped with most of the stuff they threw down our neck."

Burr also praised the efforts of left- back Mickey Demetriou who filled the hole left by the suspended Josh Gowling.

He added: "Mickey has played centre half before but it was one of those with Josh missing and Jamie Grimes suffering with a lack of confidence.

"He's come in and done a great job."
