CAPTAIN Kyle Storer insists Kidderminster Harriers can lift the mood around the club by causing another FA Cup upset.

The Aggborough outfit will be under dogs when they entertain Sky Bet League One high-flyers Peterborough United in the Third Round on Saturday (3pm ko).

However, Harriers boast an impressive record at home, with just two defeats in the Skrill Premier all season, while The Posh have not won on their travels for six matches in the league.

Kidderminster will be looking to bring some cheer after Saturday’s 6-0 hammering at promotion rivals Luton.

Their New Year's Day clash against Hereford at Edgar Street was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Since knocking League Two Newport out of the cup at the start of December, Harriers have lost four out of five.

“We always go into games thinking we can win and Peterborough won’t be any different,” said Storer.

“We like to get forward and at home with the backing of our fantastic fans we always have a chance of winning.

“It’s going to be an exciting game, Peterborough aren’t the sort of side to sit back either.”

It’s 20 years since Harriers stunned Birmingham City at the same stage, with former Blues boss Barry Fry now director of football at Peterborough.

Storer, who has played in the FA Cup third round for Tamworth against Stoke and Norwich, has also backed the squad to bounce back from their recent poor form.

He said: “We’ve played some really good football in the last few weeks but we’re letting goals in at the other end.

“That’s not just the back four, it’s a collective problem and we’ve got to work together to prevent it.

“But there’s a good spirit about the squad and we’ve got good management as well.

“Last season it was the opposite, when we would be under the cosh but would win matches.”

Meanwhile, Nathan Blissett has joined Hednesford on-loan while James Dance has gone to Rushall Olympic for a month.
