IT’S make or break for Harriers’ play-off hopes in the Skrill Premier as they face another vital game at Forest Green Rovers tonight.

After Saturday’s defeat to Grimsby, the Aggborough outfit are tenth in the Skrill Premier, seven points off the top five with six games left.

It means there is very little room for error for manager Gary Whild and his troops.

Both teams will be keen to try and breathe life into their stuttering Football League dreams after poor runs.

Harriers have not won in four games and have not earned three points away from home in 12 attempts.

Kidderminster’s Gloucestershire rivals boast a solid home record but themselves have endured a sequence of matches which has made promotion seem unlikely.

Both teams had aspirations of vying for the title this season but Harriers’ campaign was derailed by instability, while Rovers faded alarmingly after a good start, which saw Dave Hockaday sacked and replaced by Adrian Pennock.

This is the first time the two sides have played since Forest Green asked for permission to talk to then Reds’ boss Steve Burr in November.

While Burr eventually opted to stay in Worcestershire, it marked the beginning of the end for the popular Harriers manager.

Burr’s replacement Andy Thorn lasted barely two months and Gary Whild is now at the helm aiming to end the season strongly.

He said: “Forest Green are very strong at home so we know we face a tough game.

“We’re still not out of the running but obviously we have to start getting results.”

Captain Kyle Storer could return to action after serving a one match ban.

Josh Gowling (pelvis) and Danny Jackman (ankle) will miss out.

Rovers pair Chris Stokes and Jamie Turley will be missing through injury while influential midfield man Marcus Kelly misses out with a hamstring problem.

Dale Bennett may return in a defensive set-up weakened by the loss of key individuals.

Ex-Kidderminster hitman Lee Hughes will line up against the club which gave him his break in senior football.

Since arriving at The New Lawn, the former West Bromwich Albion hitman has scored seven goals in 15 starts.

Meanwhile, the 50 strong army of Harriers fans will also be hoping for an entertaining clash after walking 65 miles over two days in memory of former KHIST chairman Steve Millington, raising nearly £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Research.

Fans unable to make the game can follow the build-up and action with The Shuttle’s live match updates. The action kicks-off at 7.45pm ko.
