GARY Whild is keen for Harriers to build on his first 13 games at the helm and launch a push for the play-offs next season.

The Aggborough outfit finished the 2013-14 Skrill Premier campaign in fifth after an entertaining 1-1 draw at Halifax yesterday.

Harriers finished only five points outside the play-offs and Whild has only lost one game in 13 since replacing Andy Thorn.

"We want to kick on," commented the manager.

"We've finished seventh which after everything that has gone on is fair play to the players.

"Since I have been at the club we have always strived to compete and I don't see why that won't be the case next season.

"We are hungry to push on."

Harriers battled back after falling behind to Josh Wilson's first minute opener for the Shaymen.

Nathan Blissett headed a 30th minute leveller and Kidderminster had the best of the second half, with keeper Phil Senior denying the big hitman and Amari'i Bell.

Amari Morgan-Smith also missed a glorious chance to make it four wins out of five.

Meanwhile, there was despair and joy at the bottom of the table for Hereford and former Harriers boss Steve Burr.

The Bulls pulled off a final day relegation escape as their 2-1 win in Aldershot sealed their Conference Premier spot.

But Burr, who left Harriers in January under mysterious circumstances, saw his Chester side held 2-2 by Salisbury to suffer relegation to the Conference North.

Whild, who was Burr's former assistant at Harriers, said: "Steve will be disappointed because they had their destiny in their own hands.

"You've got to fair play to Hereford, they've pulled it out of the fire with two great wins against Alfreton and Aldershot."
