GARY Whild has warned Kidderminster Harriers that they can’t take struggling Nuneaton for granted.

The Aggborough outfit aim to continue their push for the Vanarama Conference play-offs at the James Parnell Stadium on Saturday.

Harriers are ninth in the table and five points off the promotion places with 13 games of the season left.

But they face a Boro outfit currently second from bottom and embroiled in a desperate battle to beat the drop. The game, which kicks-off at 12.45pm, will be televised on BT Sport.

Liam Daish’s side had lost four games in a row but stopped the rot when they picked up an eye-catching 2-1 victory at promotion-chasing Gateshead last weekend.

“Their win over Gateshead just illustrates how unpredictable the league is,” commented Harriers’ manager.

“It will have given them a huge boost in confidence. Nuneaton are fighting for their lives and if you look at what happened with Chester and Hereford last season, it’s worth finishing above bottom place because something might happen.

“They will looking to build on that result against us and we must make sure we’re at our best.”

Harriers head into the clash after a 1-1 draw at home to Woking, which saw Lee Hughes mark his Kidderminster comeback with his first league goal for the club in 18 years.

Callum Gittings is still sidelined, while Craig Reid has been signed off by a doctor after being the victim of a road collision.

Whild said: “First and foremost it was a very good game, I thought we were excellent in the first half and Woking responded well in the second. With many of the teams around us losing it was a good point.”

Meanwhile, Whild has said he is interested in signing Birmingham City youngster Viv Solomon Otabor on a month’s loan.

While Kidderminster boast widemen Ahmed Obeng and Keyon Reffell, the manager is keen not to overuse the inexperienced pair.

“We’ve got a good relationship with Birmingham and Viv is someone we are interested in,” said Whild. “It could be something we look at next week but Blues rate him very highly and want him to get some first team experience.

“He can play on the wing, behind the forwards and as a striker.

“We’ve obviously got Ahmed Obeng and Keyon Reffell, who are guys we have signed for the long term but we don’t want to rush them.”

The manager said he does not expect any players to go out on loan.

Saturday’s game in Warwickshire is also on-loan Shrewsbury midfielder Aaron Wildig’s final game for the club.

Harriers go to Gateshead in the league on Tuesday night (7.45pm ko).
