A LATE Adam Boyes goal left Harriers ruing their wastefulness in front of goal as they were edged out in an entertains clash in West Yorkshire.

Kidderminster had created and squandered a host of opportunities to take the lead in an end-to-end encounter at Nethermoor Park.

But Boyes, who had posed a threat throughout, headed home a bullet head to deny Kidderminster a share of the spoils and derail their momentum.

Harriers were forced into one change for the clash in Leeds.

With midfielder Aman Verma missing because of an injection for a troubling ankle problem, striker Craig Reid was drafted in as the away side switched to 4-4-2.

It was the former Stevenage forward's first start for the Reds since March 10.

Both teams played their part in an entertaining first half, but somehow went into the break goalless.

Guiseley had the best of the early exchanges, with Jake Lawlor hitting a 20-yard effort which took a deflection before flying just wide in the fourth minute.

Captain Jared Hodgkiss got his head to a cross from Guiseley dangerman Wayne Brooksby in the 13th minute.

Kiddy keeper Dean Snedker was called into action in the 18th, when he showed lightning fast reactions to deny Boyes.

But as the game wore on, the away side grew in confidence and winger Adam Dawson nearly bagged a Beckham-esque goal in the 33rd minute when he spotted keeper Steve Drench out of his area but his effort from Harriers' half flew just wide.

Reid should have done better after Reece Styche's shot hit a defender but fired the follow-up over the bar.

But Styche squandered the best chance of the half at the death. The pacey Tahvon Campbell turned defender Will Hatfield inside out before delivery a fine cross from the left but the unmarked striker headed wide at the far post.

Harriers were thankful to keeper Snedker six minutes into the second half.

Boyes beat Lathaniel Rowe-Turner for pace but his fine right-footed shot was saved brilliantly by the young keeper.

Moments later, the Guiseley goal-getter saw an effort deflected wide.

Zac Thompson then curled a good effort wide for the hosts.

At the other end, Luke Maxwell drilled ball across the box but Guiseley survived on the hour mark.

The away team made their first change in the 63rd minute when Gurjit Singh replaced Reid.

Guiseley thought they scored but Tom Craddock's goal from a corner was ruled out for a foul on Snedker.

Singh nearly made an immediate impact when he released Styche to race towards goal in the 66th minute but the forward's first touch allowed keeper Steve Drench to rush out and snuff out the danger.

Singh, who looked very bright, then glanced a 75th minute header wide from a Dawson delivery as another gilt-edge chance went begging.

Harriers were ending the game well and creating a host of goal-scoring opportunities.

In the 79th minute, Green's cross from the left was headed on by Guiseley man Brooksby but his header is tipped over by Drench.

But their efforts looked for nothing when Guiseley took an 85th minute lead. Substitute Ryan Toulson delivered a deep cross from the right and Boyes powered an unstoppable header into bottom corner to stun the visitors.
