HARRIERS boss Gary Whild admitted Kidderminster Harriers did not do enough to open up Braintree's defence in yesterday's 1-0 defeat.

The Aggborough outfit failed to replicate the stirring performance against Tranmere and Wrexham with a lacklustre display.

Braintree also offered little going forward but were handed the game's only goal after Lathaniel Rowe-Turner pushed Chez Isaac in the box and Kenny Davis tucked away the penalty.

While the spot-kick could have been harsh, Whild felt Isaac had far too easily infiltrated the penalty area and got wrong side of Rowe-Turner.

"I thought in the lead up to the penalty the lad got in too easily," lamented Kidderminster's manager.

"It was disappointing, I don't think we got enough good balls forward into the right area.

"I don't think we got enough balls into the box and to be fair to Braintree they saw the game out.

"We set out to play wide but we never did that and the game became congested and we played into their hands.

"The players thought the penalty was harsh but in the situation we are in, we will get punished.

"I was disappointed we didn't cause Braintree more problems."

Defeat means Harriers are bottom of the Vanarama National League with just three points.

He added: "There is no magic wand for us, we have a lot of young players and we need them to be better.

"We know what the situation at the club is but we've got to work harder to eradicate the mistakes."
