CARETAKER boss Colin Gordon says youthful Harriers still need the mentality to tough out a win after an encouraging 1-1 draw at Barrow.

Kidderminster produced a bright 45 minute period and took the early lead through Reece Styche.

But it needed the heroics of keeper Alex Palmer to ensure that they some who returned to Wyre Forest with a point.

Andy Cook bagged a spectacular leveller for the hosts but was denied by Palmer's double save.

The on-loan West Bromwich keeper also denied Ashley Grimes from the sport to seal his man of the match award.

"We had 45 minutes where we bossed the game against a very good side in Barrow but these young guys are frail," commented Gordon.

"We have the youngest squad in the league, we don't have the mentality some of the teams around us have at the moment.

"We are not going to give up on them but they do not have the mentality because of the league position we are in.

"When you concede a 'worldy' you start thinking 'here we go again' and if it was not for Alex Palmer, who did not want to get beaten, it could have been worse.

"We're doing it step by step, and I think everybody can see what we are trying to see."
