TEN men Kidderminster saw their woes continue when they were shot down by George Porter's second half strike.

Porter punished more errors at the back with a 49th minute free-kick.

To make matters worse, Jordan Tunnicliffe was dismissed minutes later for a professional foul.

Harriers started with the same side which had drew 1-1 at Barrow last week.

New addition Zaine Francis-Angol, formerly of Mortherwell, started on bench.

With caretaker boss Colin Gordon on holiday, coach Neil McFarlane, who is not an employee of the club and doing Harriers a favour, took charge.

Welling came into the game on the back of a three-match winning run but there appeared to be little between the sides in the first half.

On-loan left-back Kevin Toner was shown a yellow card after 10 minutes for a sliding late challenge on Wings midfielder Sam Corne.

The away side had the best early chance in the 18th minute.

From their first corner, Ben Jefford headed on and Ricky Wellard stabbed home at the far post, only for keeper Alex Palmer to save bravely at the base of the woodwork.

But Harriers slowly worked their way into the game and took control but did not really test keeper Tom King.

Jordan Jones was the home team's brightest spark and he flashed a fine effort across the face of goal in the 30th minute.

Winger Tahvon Campbell, who had been having a quite game, came to life on the stroke of half-time as he drove an effort from the edge of the box forced King into action.

But Harriers found themselves trailing by a goal and down to ten men after a disastrous ten minutes after the break.

First, more errors at the back allowed the Wings to take the lead.

The hosts gave the ball away in midfield and Tunnicliffe was judged to fouled Harry Lee, while Porter's low free-kick zipped under the wall as it jumped and snaked beneath Palmer.

Three minutes later the unfortunate Tunnicliffe was shown a straight red card for a professional foul.

A poor pass by Jared Hodgkiss allowed Porter to race toward goal and the young defender pulled him back before being given his marching orders.

The dismissal was an extra body blow for the home side, who threw on substitutes Lathaniel Rowe-Turner, Jake Green and Francis-Angol in a bid to pep them up.

But they failed to test Welling's shot-stopper until late on.

Luke Maxwell released Green down the right wing but his cross was too easy for the keeper to collect.

Reece Styche, who produced a tireless performance, curled a shot wide in the 89th minute but it was a rare effort in a lacklustre second half performance.

Their best chance to score fell to centre back Kelvin Langmead in the third minute of added time.

Hodgkiss produced a good cross but the defender's powerful header flew agonisingly wide.

Aman Verma then flung himself at a Green corner but missed the target but at the other end, Palmer denied Porter.

But Harriers slipped to an eighth defeat of the season. They take on Boreham Woodmat home on Tuesday night (7.45pm ko).
