DAVE Hockaday hailed Harriers' match-winning display against Aldershot as his the best so far.

Goals for James McQuilkin and Ben Whitfield capped an impressive second half display as Kiddy made it back-to-back wins at home for the first time since December 2014.

"It was brilliant to get the three points," said a jubilant Hockaday.

"I thought we looked a bit nervy in the first half but in the second we were excellent.

"The energy levels and bravery, I thought we mixed it up really well."

He added: "We have been working on how we need to play and hopefully the penny has dropped.

"Even in the win over Woking I thought it was bitty.

"The first half today we were resolute but in the second half is how I want us to play, I want us to suffocate teams."

Whitfield (see video) extended his loan spell from Premier League AFC Bournemouth until January and marked it with his first goal at Aggborough.

McQuilkin was also making his second debut for the Reds after joining this week.

Hockaday said: "Ben's energy levels are super, after 20 minutes he looked shot but he keeps going.

"I was wary of him picking up an injury and that's why I took him off and put on George Obosu.

"It is okay being fit and good at running but it's those people who want to run, who are willing to bust a gut and all the lads wanted to do that today."
