DAVE Hockaday has reinforced his commitment to Kidderminster Harriers.

The head coach was keen to stress how much he is determined to do well at the club after a story in the national press incurred the wrath of the fans.

The article in The Sun quoted Hockaday saying how he was keen to return to former club Leeds United.

The supporters have also become disgruntled as Kidderminster head into the testing Christmas fixtures bottom of the Vanarama National League.

While not being drawn on the piece, he said: “I know a lot has been said but I want to assure the fans I am 100 per cent committed to the club.

“I am the first into the ground at 7.30am and am desperate to see Harriers do well.

“I love the club and I am working very hard to get things right.”

Meanwhile, Harriers have announced they will host a friendly match against Championship neighbours Wolves in the New Year.

Kiddy are out of league action on January 9 and 16 – so to fill the gap, the club have arranged for a friendly contest on the Friday, January 8 to give much-needed game time to the players.

Championship outfit will bring an XI to Worcestershire on the night, with admission just £5 for adults and £2 concessions.
