MATT Gardiner has completed his switch from Worcester City to become Kidderminster Harriers' head of coaching.
Gardiner, who watched the Reds' 4-3 win over Southport on Saturday, is a key part of Collin Gordon's new management team.
He will be a key ally of new boss John Eustace.
While officially beginning his role with the club on July 1, the 42 year-old confirmed he’ll still have an involvement in matters in and around Aggborough in the meantime.
The vastly experienced former player and current coach joins us after a four-year stint as part of the management team at City.
As a player, he also represented City alongside the likes of Torquay United and Shrewsbury Town.
He said: “It's been a big decision for me, however the opportunity to coach and develop players in a full time environment has always appealed to me.
“The vision, infrastructure and plans for the future are exciting and whilst I know there's a lot of hard work ahead, I can't wait to get started.
“John and I are looking forward to hitting the ground running now – we have some momentum to take into next season which is excellent.”
Chief Executive, Colin Gordon, commented: “Matt is vital to us and he is forward-thinking, and someone who works his socks off.
“He has a great eye for the game and, knowing him like I do, he needs this opportunity.
“He is meticulous in the way he plans things and that suits a full-time job in football… I’ve been fully aware of him for a long time and am a big admirer of his.
“He feels he can succeed as a full-time coach and I believe he can.”
