CHAIRMAN Colin Gordon has said Kidderminster Harriers will continue to look for experienced players.

The Reds have a predominantly inexperienced squad but do boast mature campaigners such as Keith Lowe, Jared Hodgkiss, Zaine Francis-Angol and Wayne Thomas.

But Gordon revealed that the management team of John Eustace and Matt Gardiner are keen to add an older heads further up the pitch.

The Kiddy chief revealed the club had made an offer to former Stevenage hitman Chris Beardlsey but he instead joined Burton Albion in a strength and conditioning role.

He said: “We looked at a striker, Chris Beardsley, but he decided to work at Burton as a strength and condition coach. We tried to offer him a dual role here but he decided he wanted to work in the Championship.

“He’s got the desire and mentality, he’s a proper leader. I spoke to Graham Westley and he couldn’t speak highly enough of him but we didn’t manage to get him, he decided to hang his boots up.

“If someone like that comes up who can add something further down the spine of the team then we’ll sign them if we can afford to. There is no shortage of people in the squad with strong opinions in the squad.”
