HARRIERS have begun searching for new friendly opponents after Saturday's scheduled rivals Doncaster pulled out of the clash because of an injury crisis.

Rovers sustained injuries to Joe Wright, Harry Middleton, Craig Alcock and Joey McCormick in last night's game against Newcastle.

With four other previous injuries to contend with, manager Darren Ferguson struggled to field a full strength side with limited fully fit outfield players currently at his disposal.

The cancellations is financial blow to Harriers, who they may seek some form of financial compensation from the League Two outfit.

Managing Director Dave Pountney commented: “To lose one of our key pre-season home games at such short notice is a blow to us in terms of finances and our preparations at the stage of pre-season, and this is something that is totally out of our control.

“We’d like to apologise to all of our supporters for any inconvenience caused.”

Unless new opponents are found, Harriers could find themselves having no games, after being set for a fixture clash originally.

Harriers were set to play in the Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final at Evesham tonight, with the winners set to play Redditch United at Bromsgrove Sporting (3pm ko).
